Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Department | Level 1 Trauma Center

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CT
Compensation:
$57.69–$67.30/hour + $5K–$10K Sign-On Bonus
Our client, a healthcare organization supporting a military base, is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join its Emergency Department team at a Level 1 Trauma Center. This role offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity environment while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
What You’ll Do
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication therapy.
Provide direct patient care, including treatment assessments and medication management.
Respond to Level 1 trauma activations, code blue events, and massive blood transfusion emergencies.
Monitor and manage drug therapies, including pharmacokinetics, renal and hepatic dosing, and antibiotic stewardship.
Interpret and verify medication orders, ensuring accurate dispensing and documentation.
Facilitate discharge planning and provide patient medication education.
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical protocols.
Provide drug information and therapeutic guidance to healthcare professionals.
Monitor adverse drug reactions, polypharmacy, and high-dose medication risks.
What You Bring
Residency & Experience (one of the following):
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and an ASHP-accredited PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care Pharmacy.
OR Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency plus 3 years of practical clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, with BPS board certification.
Current, unrestricted Texas pharmacist license.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Ability to meet ASHP-Qualified Residency Preceptor standards within one year of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college or university.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
Board certification.
Prior inpatient pharmacy experience.
Working Conditions On-site role within a medical facility. Driving may be required.
