Base Pay Range $74,193.00/yr - $94,121.00/yr
Description DOCCS Bureau of Mental Health is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill anticipated openings for Licensed Master Social Worker/SG-20. Positions will concentrate on staff wellness and be located at a designated facility within each of the eight hubs.
Duties Description
Providing short-term, solutions-focused clinical support; consultation; psychoeducation; psychological First Aid; and brief crisis counseling and referral services to staff for community wellness and mental health resources as indicated. Developing and coordinating wellness-related events Statewide.
Assess and evaluate the staff wellness needs, strengths, and limitations at assigned facilities.
Creating policies/procedures pertaining to staff wellness.
Creating and chairing multi-disciplinary staff wellness committees at assigned facilities to include disciplines such as Health Services, Security, and Program areas.
Working with the facility executive team to establish wellness rooms in each facility to provide respite for staff after a traumatic event.
Creating and facilitating staff wellness, trauma, and suicide prevention trainings.
Attending Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Debriefings as necessary.
Developing and maintaining working relationships with community providers and agencies.
Attending wellness seminars provided by outside agencies to research best practice.
Collaborating with the LCSW to develop and offer seminars for family members of DOCCS staff.
Organizing Wellness Fairs Statewide aimed at providing information regarding community resources.
Exploring ways to improve employee health and wellness through areas such as fitness and nutrition.
Conducting regular site visits to review staff wellness policies and procedures at all facilities in assigned hub.
Attending individual/group clinical supervision with the LCSW.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). (*Please see below for further information).
Non-Competitive Qualifications: Possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State.
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to complete an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
Additional Comments This position will be primarily based in the NYC HUB in the downstate region.
