Responsibilities The Activity Therapist will be responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programming, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
Communicate changes in patient’s condition to Director of Clinical Services and interdisciplinary treatment team
Provide feedback regarding patient response to therapy, treatment interventions, and therapeutic objectives to the interdisciplinary treatment team
Provide assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreation skills development/deficiency
Ensure timely documentation of interventions and ensure interventions are based on the patient’s plan of care
Teach coping skills and stress management techniques to patients and display a balanced leisure lifestyle
Utilize advanced knowledge of counseling and therapeutic concepts and methods for determining therapeutic services for psychiatric, traumatic, and chemically dependent patients
Demonstrate knowledge of group dynamics as well as therapy and practice of group processing
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art, or Occupational Therapy preferred.
One (1) year of related experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.
MUST be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Salary $16- $18 per hour
