General Overview
Provides anesthetic care for patients in the surgical setting.
Essential Responsibilities
Assess, plan, evaluate, and implement anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care. Provide accurate medical record documentation. (50%)
Provide continuous observation of patients under anesthetic care and correct abnormal patient responses. Involve attending physician regarding plan of care and involve physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the CRNA's knowledge base or scope of practice. (30%)
Participate, develop, and implement performance and/or quality improvement initiatives. (10%)
Adhere to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Follow appropriate safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies. (5%)
Act as a clinical resource to interdisciplinary health care team. May serve as a mentor to new staff or students. (5%)
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications – Minimum
Current PA RN license
Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
Preferred
