This Registered Nurse provides care and education for patients based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. Manages individualized, goal‑directed nursing care through the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and practice policies.
Responsibilities
Provides professional nursing care to patients; observes, assesses, performs nursing diagnosis with intervention and evaluation of care as directed by providers.
Performs patient check‑in duties promptly, prepares equipment and aids physicians/NPs during treatment and examination.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician.
Obtains vital signs, collects samples, performs routine laboratory tests when applicable; interprets basic cardiac arrhythmias and takes appropriate action.
Maintains up‑to‑date accurate documentation of nursing care for integration by the healthcare team.
Operates clinical equipment such as stress and EKG machines, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, SaO₂ monitors, IV infusion pumps.
Answers patient calls and requests in a timely manner.
Maintains current knowledge, certification, licensure.
Indirectly supervises Medical Assistants; training, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints, resolving problems.
Qualifications
Technical Diploma/Certificate in Nursing or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Registered Nurse licensed in Florida or eligible compact state upon hire.
BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association upon hire.
Demonstrated proficiency in acute and chronic care nursing.
Clear understanding of quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
