We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered
part‑time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
to join our rehabilitation services team. In this role, you’ll work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility, restore function, and achieve their highest level of independence following surgery or injury.
What You’ll Do
Assist the Physical Therapist with patient evaluations by gathering data and performing delegated assessment tasks
Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, manual techniques, and functional activities
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
Monitor and document patient progress accurately and timely
Communicate changes in patient condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
Assist with coordination of care by collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other providers
Support a safe, encouraging rehabilitation environment that promotes patient participation
Maintain compliance with Texas state practice guidelines, hospital policies, and accreditation standards

Required Skills
Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training, and rehabilitation techniques
Ability to follow and carry out PT-developed treatment plans
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Strong documentation and time-management abilities
Empathy, patience, and a supportive bedside manner
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Understanding of safety standards and infection control procedures
Required Experience
Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current Texas PTA license (required)
Previous experience in outpatient, surgical hospital, or rehab setting preferred
Experience working with post‑surgical or orthopedic patient populations is a plus
