We’re looking for registered nurses to provide restorative, healing care. The RN will work with the Clinical Manager and interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care.
Summary of Job Purpose The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing a restorative, healing experience for the patient and their support systems in transformational partnership with the Clinical Manager and interdisciplinary team. The RN is responsible for providing quality patient care by demonstrating clinical competence, participating in ongoing quality assessment, and providing direction to ancillary staff.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough and ongoing holistic nursing assessment including mental status, psychiatric, medical and social history.
Identify risks for imminent threat of harm to self or others and develop appropriate interventions and desired outcomes.
Collaborate with health care team members, patient and family to meet patient’s present and discharge needs; initiate referrals as necessary.
Treat and perform procedures in accordance with evidence‑based policies and patient care standards.
Accurately document pertinent patient information using the nursing process.
Administer medications and provide pre‑ and post‑assessment, teaching, and evaluation.
Participate in QPI process, maintain patient safety culture, and conduct environmental rounds.
Delegate care to LPN, CNA, Mental Health Technician, and unit clerk as appropriate and supervise accordingly.
Conduct hourly rounds, intervene to remove barriers, and may serve as a team leader in crisis situations.
Cross‑train or float to other departments as required.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school and currently licensed in the State of New York (permittee acceptable).
Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice; sound clinical skills; knowledge of hospital structure and standards.
Positive communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain competency in restraint application and complete ongoing unit‑specific and hospital‑wide Net Learning modules.
