Required License/Registration/Certification:

Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact‑state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds daily and 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

Shift:

Two 12‑hour NIGHT shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) every Saturday and Sunday night, 24 hrs / week. (Weekend PREMIUM Position – WEPP: work 24 hrs / week, paid for 36 hrs / week.)

Job Summary:

Provide total, comprehensive, continuous and patient‑centered care; assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, evaluate a nursing plan of care; deliver direct patient care; ensure patient satisfaction; train and delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians; adhere to university policies, and federal, state, and local regulations; collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to improve communication and patient outcomes.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns, and Swanson’s Caring Model; superb direct patient care and critical thinking; basic computer navigation and internet skills; professional and respectful communication; strong organization, prioritization, and delegation; proactive, confident patient advocacy; excellent teamwork and independent work capability.

Preferred Education/Experience:

BSN + at least 1 year RN experience.
