Position Summary As a licensed pharmacy technician (Tech L1) you will be responsible for many aspects of the mail order prescription process. You may be assigned to work all areas of the dispensing pharmacy including product selection, packing and shipping. Tech L1, Dispensing team members are expected to perform any of the following functions: manual filling and packing, fill medications for automated machines, Quality Sampling of medications from automated machine, packing orders using automated packing machinery.

As a Tech L1 you may be asked to support the shipping handler functions such as manually metering packages and placement of packages to be sorted for shipment.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you must possess basic computer proficiency and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. This position requires standing throughout the entire shift. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction across all levels of staff.

Success in this role also depends on demonstrating a high degree of reliability, professionalism, problem‑solving ability, and a collaborative team‑oriented mindset.

Required Qualifications

Possess or obtain an Illinois Pharmacy Technician License

License Requirement: must complete IL Certification Requirements within 2 years from the date your license was issued, which includes: 1) Passing the CPhT exam and 2) Backend Technician Training Program

Responsibility of maintaining licensure and compliance training

Flexibility to perform duties across multiple functional areas.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Read and comprehend English

Perform basic math (including dosage and days’ supply calculations)

Physical ability to: Stand for extended periods; Reach, twist, bend, stoop, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs

Detail focused and task oriented.

Regular and predictable attendance

Colleague will be required to work mandatory overtime/extended work week when needed

Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new processes, technologies, and workflow changes

Preferred Qualifications

Formal Pharmacy Technician training or Pharmacy Tech experience

Experience working in a Mail Order Pharmacy

Certified Pharmacy Technician prior to 2024

Education Verifiable high school diploma or GED required

Anticipated Weekly Hours 40

Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is

$17.00 - $31.30

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
