Research Technician II - Medical Oncology
Position Summary
The Vindigni laboratory studies DNA replication and repair, and the roles of these pathways on cancer initiation, progression and response to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. We offer a unique environment that combines biochemical, cellular, and structural approaches, making it an ideal setting for training staff and students interested in exploring the mechanisms that maintain genome integrity. We are among the few labs worldwide that integrate cellular and electron microscopy techniques to investigate changes in replication fork dynamics at the single‑molecule resolution.
Scheduled Hours 40 hours per week
Lab Responsibilities
Assist with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions, and setup and maintenance of equipment.
Assist with cellular assays to monitor DNA damage and cell viability, and with preparation of samples for electron microscopy experiments.
Perform data entry and maintain research data files.
Prepare tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
Comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
Assist with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Education and Qualification
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
Preferred Qualifications
No additional education required. The ideal candidate will have up to one year of experience in a laboratory setting.
Certifications / Professional Licenses
No specific certification or professional license is required for this position.
Work Experience
