Registered Dental Hygienist
in Bronx and Manhattan, NY and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their school. Overview
In this role, you will have a workday that ends with the school day with no nights or weekends, offering a work-life balance in a unique mobile-dental setting dedicated to serving children in schools. Responsibilities
Assist with oral health management of all patients as part of a team Verify patient identity using name and date of birth prior to treatment and document verification Obtain oral health assessments for each patient (new baseline and follow-up) Review medical history and other pertinent oral health information Provide oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application and fluoride application per accepted standards Provide dental assistance as directed by the dentist Provide oral health education and individual counseling to patients on best practices (e.g., brushing, flossing) Document provided dental services on the patient’s chart Daily travel to and from school sites Qualifications
Must hold active RDH license 1+ years of experience as an RDH Valid state ID, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally Ability to work well with children and adults; strong teamwork Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; organized and detail-oriented; able to multi-task Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. Current CPR (BLS) certification with hands-on live skills assessment Able to walk several flights of stairs on occasion (many schools are without elevators) Compensation & Benefits
$53 - $60 per hour Benefit package (health, dental, vision) State-of-the-art portable dental equipment and latest technology & digital radiography Evenings, weekends and summers off; traditional school-day schedule (about 6 – 7 hours; roughly 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.)
