Responsibilities
Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and direct administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, administer physical therapy treatments and active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic treatment to patients in a correctional facility.
Interpret to patients the significance of physical therapy services.
Comply with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the physical therapy program.
Maintain order and supervise the conduct of incarcerated individuals, ensuring safety of persons and property, and security of working areas and materials.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of physical therapy in California as determined by the California Medical Board.
Applicants may be admitted to examination prior to meeting these requirements, but the California Medical Board must determine that all legal requirements have been met before appointment.
Additional information about the job is available in the Duty Statement. A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.
