PHYSICAL THERAPIST I , CF - PELICAN BAY STATE PRISON
Location: PELICAN BAY STATE PRISON (PBSP) in CRESCENT CITY, CA, DEL NORTE COUNTY.
Employment type: Part-time – 20 hours per week.
Monthly salary range:
$2,855.00
to
$4,236.00 . (Actual pay based on skills and experience; discuss with recruiter.)
Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and the direct administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, the Physical Therapist I, CF administers physical therapy treatments and active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic treatment to patients in a correctional facility. They interpret to patients the significance of physical therapy services, comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and maintain order, safety, and security within the facility.
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires each full‑time employee in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and to receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part‑time employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis.
Minimum qualifications:
Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of physical therapy in California as determined by the California Medical Board.
Must pass the CalCareers examination for eligibility for the PHYSICAL THERAPIST I, CORRECTIONAL FACILITY position.
Demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic treatment and maintain facility safety.
