Job Overview:
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Peoria, IL. The role involves providing comprehensive patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent Med‑Surg RN experience.
Valid RN license in Illinois.
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
NIHSS certification.
ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
Other certifications and licenses applicable to the position.
Essential Work Functions
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions.
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians.
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Document patient information in the medical record.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity.
Ensure infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences.
Facilitate discharge planning.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication.
Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Proficiency in PC skills.
Physical ability to stand, move equipment 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, and bend.
Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel.
Capacity to handle frequent contact with the public and meet deadlines under pressure.
Visual acuity and effective communication.
