About the Position:
TravelNurseSource is partnering with Magnet Medical to find a qualified OR RN in Round Rock, Texas, 78681. As a Registered Nurse in the operating room, you will provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, collaborating with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Preoperative Preparation – assess patients’ medical histories, verify consent, review medications, and prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery.
Intraoperative Nursing Care – prepare the OR environment, ensure sterile conditions, monitor vital signs, assist with anesthesia induction and maintenance, and position patients.
Surgical Assistance and Instrumentation – anticipate surgeons’ needs, pass instruments, maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure.
Patient Advocacy and Safety – advocate for patient safety and comfort, monitor responses, anticipate complications, and intervene promptly.
Postoperative Care and Monitoring – transfer patients to PACU, monitor vital signs, assess incisions, apply dressings, manage drainage devices, and provide pain management.
Documentation and Communication – maintain accurate records, communicate with healthcare team members, and provide updates on surgical progress.
Continuing Education and Professional Development – stay current with advancements in surgical techniques, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and engage in team debriefings.
Qualifications:
Qualified OR RN with valid RN license.
