Overview
Position: Phlebotomist. Under the guidance of the Unit Supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department of Pathology. Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and related procedures as directed, maintaining compliance with hospital and Pathology department policies. Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and handling according to standard procedures. Maintain patient comfort and safety during procedures; provide clear communication with patients and team members. Qualifications
Experience: 6 months to 1 year phlebotomy experience including pediatrics venipuncture and micro-collection. Education: High School graduate or GED required. Required License / Credentials: Phlebotomy, Nursing or Medical Assistant certification preferred. Other Skills: Excellent customer relations skills; math, verbal, and written skills at high school level. Supervision: Periodically take ‘lead’ responsibilities on a rotating basis. Supervision Received: Works under general supervision in performing routine assignments; unusual or more difficult situations referred to immediate supervisor or designee. Work Details
Bi-Weekly Hours: 40 Work Schedule: 4am-4:30pm weekdays and alternating weekends. Compensation: The minimum starting rate for this position is $18.00 per hour. When determining a team member's base rate, factors may include years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity. Benefits
