Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a telemetry, med/surg, and PCU night position in a rural setting requiring strong independence and a valid NH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in a small, rural hospital unit with a mix of med/surg, telemetry, and progressive care (PCU) patients
Shifts are 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Every other weekend and holiday coverage are required
No on-call responsibilities
Patient population includes newborns through geriatric patients
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1, with higher acuity PCU at 3:1 or 4:1
Personal scrubs of any color may be worn
Primary responsibilities include comprehensive patient care across med/surg, telemetry, and PCU units
No non-billable orientation is provided
Requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 5 days or less for a 13-week assignment
Scheduling accommodations, including block scheduling, will not be entertained
Holiday coverage is required as assigned
Requirements
Active NH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in PCU, med/surg, and telemetry
Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and completion of a basic dysrhythmia test
Prior travel nurse experience highly preferred
Experience in rural or small facilities highly preferredMust be comfortable working independently across MS, TELE, and PCU specialties
Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
Own transportation is required for this assignment
