Job Summary Under general supervision and in accordance with policies and procedures, the RRT provides respiratory therapy services throughout the continuum of care. Duties include therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures, diagnostic testing for patients with or at risk of cardiopulmonary abnormalities, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care team members to develop optimal care plans. The RRT performs patient assessments, evaluates therapy effectiveness, delegating activities when appropriate, instructs employees and students, and may serve as in‑charge therapist or preceptor.
Responsibilities
Provide respiratory therapy services to patients across all care settings.
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Conduct therapeutic & rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic tests.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for optimal cardiopulmonary care.
Delegate tasks to qualified team members when appropriate.
Instruct staff and students on respiratory procedures and evaluate competence.
Act as in‑charge therapist and preceptor as requested.
Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program (Associate’s degree in Science, Allied Health or equivalent).
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
Minimum BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
State of Michigan licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
Vaccine Statement Tenet Healthcare requires full vaccination or an approved exemption. If vaccinated, proof must be provided before start date. Exemptions require regular testing per law.
