Senior Pharmacy Technician
role at Providence St Vincent Medical Center, Portland, OR. This is a full‑time position with variable shift hours.
Responsibilities The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties related to the filling and dispensing of unit‑ and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt and accurate manner. Duties include filling and dispensing oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). The technician must possess advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas.
Required Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED
Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician upon hire or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
Minimum of 2 years (over 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, or 3 years (over 6240 hours) of hospital pharmacy experience if the technician does not have PTCB certification
Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances)
Specialty certification applicable by role and state (e.g., ACPE‑approved sterile compounding certification)
