Pharmacy Technician – Providence Portland Medical Center, Portland, OR – Full‑Time, Day Shift
Responsibilities
Support and assist in the coordination of Pharmacy Services activities including preparation of sterile compounds using aseptic technique.
Perform compounding pharmacy maintenance and scheduled cleanings, inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies.
Oversee ordering, stocking, receiving of medications and supplies, processing specialty orders.
Maintain and stock automated dispensing machines (ADM) where applicable.
Prepare hazardous agents such as chemotherapy, anti‑neoplastics, biological and hormone agents, including investigational research drugs.
Ensure compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards in the maintenance of the IV room.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Upon hire: Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
Minimum of 3 years (6,240 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience with PTCB certification, or 4 years (8,320 hours) if no PTCB certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of pharmacy technician or sterile compounding coursework/training.
PTCB certification (may be required by state).
PTCB Certificate in Hazardous Drug Management.
Preferable specialty certification (e.g., ACPE‑approved sterile compounding certification).
Oncology or hospital work experience.
