Scope / Position Summary This position coordinates all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs in OSUMC outpatient and retail areas. Key responsibilities include:
Approve medication orders and distribute medications, ensuring appropriate dose, route, frequency, and duration of therapy.
Review patient medication profiles for drug‑drug interactions, duplication of therapy, drug allergy interactions, and appropriate regimens.
Provide patient counseling and disease state management.
Coordinate patients' pharmaceutical needs with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care professionals.
Supervise technicians, undergraduate and graduate students, and provide educational programs for hospital/clinic staff.
Minimum Qualifications Employment Status:
For Hire
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Ohio.
1–3 years of experience in retail or health‑system outpatient pharmacy (preferred).
On‑Going:
Perform professional, supervisory, and teaching functions; continue to meet competency and licensure expectations of a retail specialty pharmacist.
