Registered Nurse (RN) – Charge Nurse – Mother Infant Unit (MIU) – Memorial Regional Medical Center
Join Bon Secours Mercy Health as a Charge Nurse in the Mother Infant Unit (MIU) at Memorial Regional Medical Center. The role focuses on ensuring high quality, safe, and efficient patient care while supporting a collaborative, customer‑centric environment.
Bonus Eligibility External applicants with at least one year of RN experience are eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $5,000. Internal BSMH associates are not eligible for this bonus.
Responsibilities
Coordinate nursing and interprofessional team members to develop and sustain an environment that promotes clinical excellence and customer satisfaction.
Adjust schedules and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity, patient population, resources, and care design.
Provide supervision of staff, offer clinical support, and assume managerial responsibilities for the unit in the absence of the nurse manager/clinical care leader.
Use the nursing process and clinical knowledge to manage unit operations and achieve optimal efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education:
4‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Specialty/Major:
Nursing – BSN must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
Licensure/Certification:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
Minimum Years/Type of Experience:
18–24 months of experience with clinical, psychological, and pathophysiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment; familiarity with nursing policies and procedures.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Minimum of Clinical Nurse II in the Professional Nurse Advancement Program or submit a portfolio upon hire. Demonstrated knowledge of management/leadership theories, teaching skills, and group dynamics.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
Previous charge nurse or supervisory experience.
