Chemotherapy Registered Nurse (Oncology RN)
Location: Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
Shift schedules are typically day shifts and include working weekends and holidays. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of Ansible or its customers.
Responsibilities
Provide care to patients requiring immunotherapy and/or chemotherapy in the Infusion Suite
Assess, monitor, and treat patient responses to antineoplastic and/or immunotherapy treatments
Administer, monitor, document, and evaluate interventions and treatments (including blood products, high-alert medications, and IV fluids)
Respond to emergencies and infusion/transfusion reactions
Educate patients and families, develop teaching plans, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
Maintain responsibility for coverage in the Chemotherapy & Infusion center
Qualifications
Current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory
AHA BLS required; ACLS for critical care
Preferred: Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification
Minimum: Completion of the Oncology Nursing Society Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Course
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or higher preferred
At least 2 years of recent experience in immunotherapy/chemotherapy (within the last 6 months)

Physical Requirements
Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
Lift up to 20 lbs
Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
