Chemotherapy / Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

Duration:
1 year contract with possibility of up to 4 additional 1-year extensions
Shift Schedule:
Day shifts only: 07:30 – 16:00 or 08:00 – 16:30 or 08:30 – 17:00 (Weekdays, weekends, and federal holidays may be required)
How many shifts needed per month:
Approximately 15–20 shifts per FTE
Credentialing / Onboarding time:
6 to 8 weeks
License:
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state or territory
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) (includes CPR)
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Course (required minimum)
ONCC Certification (preferred)
Experience Needed:
Minimum 2 years recent experience (worked within the last 6 months) performing chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy infusions in an infusion suite
Special Skills Needed:
Chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration
Management of infusion reactions and oncologic emergencies
Central line access (PICC, Port-a-Cath)
Blood product administration
Emergency response and AED use
EMR documentation (CPRS/VistA preferred)
Responsibilities:
Assess, administer, monitor, and document chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments
Identify and manage adverse reactions and emergencies
Provide patient education and coordinate oncology care
Document care in VA CPRS system
Comply with VA, Joint Commission, and Oncology Nursing Society standards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology teams
