Pay & Locations Base pay: $35.00/hr – $47.00/hr. Hourly rate ranges from $35 to $42 for LPNs and $42 to $49 for RNs, depending on location and shift.

Shift openings include 7a‑3p, 3p‑11p, and 11p‑7a with weekly pay.

Locations: Worcester, Southbridge, Marlborough, Webster.

Education & Eligibility

Must have graduated from a Massachusetts board‑approved nursing education program within one year of hire date. The program may be for LPN or RN.

Required Documentation

Documentation from your nursing program showing your graduation date.

Proof of scheduled NCLEX licensure exam within 90 days of hire.

Duties and Responsibilities

Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.

Maintain current resident care plans for all residents under your care.

Follow physician’s orders. Render and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders.

Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately.

Review patient records daily to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes.

Visit each resident daily to evaluate needs.

Maintain accurate awareness of residents on the alert list.

Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary.

Administer medication according to procedure.

Maintain accurate and safe control of all drugs for which you are responsible.

Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary.

Demonstrate correct safety techniques in accordance with orientation and training processes of Athena.

Comply with facility privacy practices, policies, and procedures; protect residents’ information.

Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing or other managerial staff.

Specific Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted.

Must deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.

Must possess knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long‑term care.

Must show leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work harmoniously with staff.

Must plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs and policies necessary for quality care.

Must have accurate and comprehensive assessment skills.

Must understand drug actions and interactions.

Must know restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and apply them appropriately.

Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle difficult residents.

Must seek new methods and principles and incorporate them into nursing practices.

Must communicate effectively about emergencies.
