The Adult Psychiatric I unit is licensed for 22 acute psychiatric beds for patients with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. The Adult Psychiatric I unit specializes in adult care of patients 18 years old and older with a primary psychiatric diagnosis.

Provides supervision of workflow and staff within the Department. Assures the provision of patient care by addressing performance, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate. Ensures on‑going compliance with accrediting agency and State Licensure requirements. Shares knowledge of functions and standards to assist others in planning improvements; communicates information; designs materials and education programs; teaches; coaches and encourages recognition of achievement. Acts as a clinical resource and mentor/preceptor to staff. Operates within budgetary goals as defined by department executive. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Job Description RN-Lead

Under the direction of Unit Director, Clinical House Supervisor, or Designee

Provides supervision of workflow and staff for a designated shift in overseeing the efficient functioning of the department.

Assures the provision of patient care, by addressing performance, risk management, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate.

The Charge Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.

As a clinical nurse, the charge nurse spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family‑centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Requirements

Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.

Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

RN Patient PT Deteriorations

Basic Life Support is required. New employees requiring CPR‑Basic Life Support (BLS)‑American Heart Association should receive CPR training within the first week of orientation.

Glucometer Training

Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia

Aegis Training

Wound Care Training
