Shift: Weekend Nights (7p-7a), Full‑Time

Job Summary The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. This role involves delivering nursing care to patients of varying age groups, utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards.

Responsibilities

Apply nursing practice competencies to achieve safe, optimal patient and family‑centered care.

Coordinate patient care and communicate with the care team using leadership competencies.

Develop professionally as a lifelong learner and maintain competency caring for complex patients.

Evaluate care based on evidence, the UofL Health quality model, and patient safety goals.

About the Unit 6 Towers is a 22‑bed vascular thoracic unit caring for post‑op thoracic, vascular, and cardiac procedure surgical patients.

Required Qualifications

Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky.

Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units.

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
