This position provides essential support for the successful operation of production-scale farming commodities (wheat, grain sorghum, silage, and hay) under the direction of a farmer. The Northwest Research-Extension Center farm production team is responsible for performing all common agronomic tasks associated with crop production, including pesticide application, tillage, planting, irrigation, and harvesting. Worksite Options
This role is expected to be performed on-site 5 days a week with variable weekend schedules during certain times of the year such as the growing season and harvest. Minimum Qualifications
One year of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
BS degree preferred plus three years of experience in large-scale farming operations. Vocational training in the safe and proper use of pesticides highly desirable. Ability to drive large and small farm equipment safely and skillfully. Other Requirements
Valid driver's license that permits the incumbent to operate automobiles, pickup trucks, and farm trucks having standard or automatic transmissions. Certified or willing to become certified in the application of restricted-use pesticides on crops within the first six months of employment.
