About the Role Ambassador Healthcare at College Park is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Preventionist to support nursing leadership and oversee infection prevention and control programs. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse with strong supervisory and infection prevention experience in a skilled nursing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating daily nursing services in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Support development and implementation of nursing service organizational structures.
Collaborate with the MDS/RAI Coordinator to schedule, conduct, and submit resident assessments.
Allocate staffing and resources efficiently to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
Coordinate care with physicians, consultants, advocacy organizations, and government agencies.
Ensure continuity of resident care through collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Assist with staffing data collection and daily postings.
Participate in discharge planning and updates to resident care plans.
Support development of nursing policies, procedures, objectives, and philosophy statements.
Maintain current nursing reference materials and regulatory resources.
Assist in preparation of departmental budgets.
Plan, develop, implement, and oversee the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program.
Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, and local infection prevention regulations.
Monitor adherence to infection prevention practices and aseptic techniques.
Establish and maintain an infection surveillance program using standardized definitions.
Implement and monitor data collection tools for infection-related outcomes.
Collaborate with Environmental Services and Laundry departments on infection control procedures.
Review, analyze, and report infection control data, including antibiotic stewardship and outbreaks.
Conduct investigations into infection trends and communicable diseases.
Present findings and recommendations to the Infection Prevention & Control Committee.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
Infection Prevention Certification (required)
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in infection prevention
Prior nursing home/skilled nursing facility experience (required)
RN Supervisor and Infection Prevention experience
Strong knowledge of current infection control practices and regulations
Experience with PointClickCare
