7PM-7:30AM with some weekends, holidays; on-call required; minimum 96-216 hours per 6-week period
Job Summary The Critical Care Per Diem pool will care for ICU patients at UK Healthcare Enterprise locations. Pay is based on shifts worked; higher pay for night shift/weekend coverage.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, continuous, patient-centered nursing care via assessment, planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation
Deliver direct patient care, ensuring satisfaction, and delegate duties to Nursing Care Technicians
Adhere to university policies, federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and team to improve communication and outcomes
Qualifications
ADN license required; active Kentucky RN license, TWP, provisional license, or active compact RN license in good standing
AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date
Knowledge of critical care nursing concepts, Maslow’s needs, functional health patterns, and Swanson’s Caring model
Proficient direct patient care, critical thinking, computer navigation, and effective communication skills
Strong organization, prioritization, delegation, and teamwork skills; independent and proactive
Preferred BSN + at least 18 months of ICU experience
