Certified Medical Assistant

to join our team at the Flower Mound location in the Medical Oncology department. Typical hours are Mon‑Fri 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The position may be level 1, 2, or Sr. depending on candidate experience. Under direct supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment, promotes efficient patient flow, and performs clinic support tasks such as clerical duties, answering phones, and maintaining physicians’ schedules. Responsibilities

Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate. Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician before treatment or procedures. Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies as needed. Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested. Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician. Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols. Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist. Process prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN. Inform physician of patient reschedules and no‑shows. Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician. May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision. Qualifications

Level 1

High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred. 0–3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant. Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Some state regulations may require specific certifications. Level 2 (additional to Level 1)

Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Level Sr (additional to Levels 1 & 2)

Minimum five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting. Current CPR certification required. Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, and occasional lifting of items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work Environment

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment may occur. Seniority Level
