Colorado Connections Academy (ColoCA) schools are tuition‑free, online public schools serving students throughout the state. Colorado Connections Academy @ Mapleton as well as ColoCA @ Durango serve students in grades K‑12 statewide and are operated by the Mapleton Public Schools and Durango Public Schools through a contract with Connections Education, LLC to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED, as is Colorado Connections Academy @ Mapleton and Colorado Connections Academy @ Durango. Position Summary and Responsibilities

Working from the office in Englewood, Durango, or at home, the K‑8 Assistant Principal will help manage staff who consult regularly with Learning Coaches and students, ensuring that each child successfully completes his/her instructional program. The Assistant Principal is responsible for working with parents, students, support staff, and certified teachers who “virtually” facilitate a home‑based instruction program. The Assistant Principal will spend the majority of time working with stakeholders on matters of policy, academic outcomes, reporting, and supervision, and reports to and works with the School Leader. Other key responsibilities include: Deliver academic success and outcomes of the school based on annual goals, including student achievement and accountability score on the State Report Card. Oversee implementation of proven curriculum and operational protocols. Ensure staff maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service. Ensure all state reporting is completed correctly and on time. Maintain timely communication with school staff, students, and families. Serve in a leadership role, seeing the big picture and being service‑oriented. Identify problems and brainstorm solutions. Communicate effectively in written and oral presentations. Coordinate with Legal Counsel as needed. Act as a state‑trained procurement officer. Collaborate with Assistant Principals and POBL staff to implement core operational models. Implement program changes, new processes, and software introductions. Handle escalated issues from students, parents, or teachers. Represent the school at events and with the Department of Education. Build a high‑performing leadership team. Supervise and evaluate all school staff as required by the state. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements

Active Administrator Endorsement/License required. Must reside in Colorado. Strong leadership qualities and commitment to goal‑directed management and accountability. Bachelor’s and master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Customer‑focused approach. Flexible, able to transition between tasks quickly. Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment. Team player. Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite). Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two‑step authentication. Note: The anticipated starting salary for Colorado‑based individuals expressing interest in this position begins at $77,000 per year.
