The Controller Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) provides trusted financial services that support national security and the Laboratory's mission. The Controller Division seeks a highly motivated, energetic, customer‑focused Senior Systems Analyst to support and maintain Oracle core finance modules such as General Ledger, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, and Inventory. Primary duties include delivering business solutions within these modules, application configuration, functional testing for new releases and upgrades, and developing functional designs. You will work with business owners and users to analyze complex financial problems solved with automated systems; provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing cost‑effective systems and procedures; configure system settings; plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing; create specifications that meet business requirements; and consult users on automated systems. LANL's ERP Modernization project seeks experience with large cloud ERP applications such as Oracle or SAP S/4 HANA. Candidates must possess strong organizational, teamwork, and customer service skills; reliability, availability, and the ability to work outside a regular schedule are required.
Key Responsibilities
System Management & Configuration:
Ensure effective operation of accounting and financial modules within Oracle ERP, configure and support related systems and issues, and maintain data integrity.
User Support & Training:
Provide end‑user training, offer system expertise, and address technical issues.
Testing & Upgrades:
Plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing; facilitate upgrades while maintaining security protocols.
Collaboration & Consultation:
Work closely with finance and technical teams to align system functionalities with business requirements.
Policy & Compliance:
Support implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring systematic compliance with DOE/NNSA and federal financial regulations.
Leadership:
Provide leadership to peers and lead technology‑related projects, oversee task plans, and resolve implementation challenges.
Reporting & Metrics:
Design and develop advanced financial reports and operational metrics to support strategic decision‑making.
Troubleshooting:
Address and resolve production issues within established timelines.
Minimum Job Requirements
Extensive knowledge of financial systems, information technology theory, principles, techniques, and software, applied to accounting and financial management in Oracle EBS applications and modules.
Extensive experience analyzing complex financial reporting problems, developing strategies and creative reporting solutions in accordance with financial and accounting compliance.
Demonstrated extensive expertise in testing and supporting new releases, upgrades, and developing functional design solutions, and managing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, preferably Oracle Financials.
Extensive experience leading specialized projects and providing training in innovative solutions to highly complex problems, along with recommending and implementing effective courses of action.
Extensive knowledge and experience troubleshooting and resolving system problems and issues both independently and as a team member by gathering information, analyzing data, and summarizing results with a proven ability to provide actionable analysis for decision‑making. Advanced expertise in accounting, financial concepts, and system integration.
Proven ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences, coupled with exceptional interpersonal, written communication, and verbal skills to engage with customers, staff, senior management, and stakeholders.
Education & Experience Position requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and 12 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Experience with ERP cloud implementation – Oracle or SAP S/4 HANA
Experience working with SQL
Experience working with Agile project management concepts
Work Location The work location for this position is telework and is located in Los Alamos. Telework is defined as working from offsite but within a 2‑hour ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position Commitment Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required time, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with a documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is one year.
