About the Role The
Certified Scrub Tech
supports the surgical team by ensuring that all instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for use during procedures. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up surgical instruments and sterile fields in accordance with case requirements
Assist surgeons and OR staff during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments
Ensure proper handling of sterile equipment and maintain aseptic technique at all times
Perform instrument counts and support infection control standards
Assist with OR turnover and prepare for subsequent cases
Collaborate with circulating nurses and SPD team for optimal surgical flow

Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
Certification (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT required
Previous experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center preferred
BLS certification required
