Job Details Hours and Schedule: 4:00 PM-4:00 AM, 2-2-3 Schedule.
Pay: $22.36/hour, $3/night shift premium (6 PM–6 AM) and $2.25 weekend shift premium.
Potential bonuses up to $1,500 in the first year.
Job Overview Perform laboratory tests on dairy and environmental samples. Provide accurate test results using approved methods of analysis and communicate results to internal customers in a timely manner. Collaborate in the support of internal and external programs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Product Testing
Sample collection as directed for analytical or micro testing.
Prepare samples to send to corporate or third‑party labs, including compositing.
Perform tests and analyses accurately and timely on dairy products.
Follow methods such as AOAC or Standard Methods for the Examination of Dairy Products.
Tests may include moisture and salt analysis, butterfat, proteins, total solids, pH, titratable acidity, bacteriological testing, inhibitory substances, sample preparation, and others as directed.
Commission, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments (microscopes, pH meters, protein analysis equipment, milk/whey/cheese component analysis equipment, automated titration equipment, balances, etc.).
Troubleshoot basic equipment and testing procedures.
Perform routine calibration and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Organize and prepare supplies needed to complete work.
Maintain equipment and glassware; clean, wash, and store in an organized, sanitary manner.
Maintain a functional and clean work area.
Follow regulatory, safety, standard operating procedures, GMPs, and GLPs.
Environmental Testing
Water or isogrid collection.
Air sampling (environmental and compressed air).
Environmental swabbing for Listeria, Salmonella, and Cronobacter.
Swab equipment for sanitation verification; clean equipment end of day.
Recording Data & Communication of Results
Effectively communicate test results (written and oral).
Enter results into databases such as Labware and D365.
Functional Lab Program Support
Assist with completion of functional program activities.
Data entry and review for accuracy.
Lab SOP review.
Testing/Sampling (environmental, air, water).
Collaborate with management to identify efficiencies and cost containment.
Additional Responsibilities
Follow company policies and procedures.
Follow government standards and regulations.
Provide backup relief as needed.
Follow safety procedures as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Good analytical, math, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel) preferred.
Prior lab bench experience with knowledge of proper laboratory techniques.
Self‑organization skills.
Ability to read and use equipment manuals.
Good listening and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate.
