About the job
: The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care hospital of Las Vegas as well as assist the veterinarian with all duties.
How you'll make a difference
Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross‑matching, and slide agglutination testing
Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
Properly use and maintain medical equipment
Provide professional client communication
Help keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
Maintain client and patient confidentiality
Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
Meet or exceed VECC expectations for attendance and punctuality
Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
What you'll bring
Experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within an ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long‑term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
Reliable, organized, and committed to provide high level care to our patients and clients
A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun!
Schedule :
Day or swing shift. Four 10‑hour or three 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends
Day Shift Salary :
$25.00 to $30.00/hr, based on experience.
Swing Shift Salary :
$27.00 to $32.00/hr, based on experience. (This range includes a swing shift differential)
