Position Summary As a DFH Project Manager, you’ll manage multiple commercial construction projects from start to finish. Your responsibilities include project planning, financial oversight, material procurement, and client communication. You’ll be expected to interpret complex construction documents and apply your DFH expertise to drive successful project outcomes. Detailing experience is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret contract documents, including project scopes, schedules, drawings, and specifications
Manage project financials, including pricing, cost tracking, and change orders
Identify and implement value engineering and product substitutions when appropriate
Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and project specifications
Create submittals, shop drawings, and product data using Comsense or similar software
Procure materials using machining sheets, purchase orders, and vendor platforms
Collaborate with Estimators, Detailers, Vendors, and Clients throughout the project lifecycle
Generate RFIs and resolve technical issues proactively
Customer Service Expectations
Provide outstanding support to both internal and external customers
Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally
Communicate clearly, ask clarifying questions, and confirm expectations
Follow up consistently and build positive, respectful relationships
Take ownership and maintain a customer-focused attitude
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in DFH project management with detailing background preferred
Current or recent experience with a DFH distributor or subcontractor
High school diploma or equivalent (additional education a plus)
Proficiency with Comsense preferred
Skills & Attributes
Strong knowledge of DFH products: Hollow Metal, Wood Doors, Hardware, Aluminum Frames, and Specialty Openings
Familiarity with codes, standards, templates, and sizing
Clear and effective communication skills
Vendor relationship management and procurement expertise
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs
Highly organized with strong prioritization and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Adaptable, accountable, and open to feedback
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
