The Role Deliver project management services in support of Die Engineering, the die shops & stamping plants pertaining to: all aspects of procurement from SORs (Statement of Requirements) and RFQs (Request for Quotes) to Ariba Shopping Carts, Verification Tryout Material, & change management. Deliver "ready to run", lean dies on time to the Stamping Plant customer(s) that meet Body Shop quality requirements within the program investment. These activities are completed utilizing the Vehicle Development Process stages of die procurement, focusing on the elimination of waste through value engineering and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

Engage in Advanced Engineering Activities and Source Die/Checking Fixture Work to Suppliers.

Support Scoping Meetings for Suppliers

Supply Vendors with Appropriate Engineering Deliverables and Conduct Vendor Kickoffs and P2 (Production Release) Reviews.

Support Steel/Aluminum Procurement Process for Primary Die Tryout Material.

Bundle competitive bids and create Quote Packages to Purchasing

Responsible for submitting Shopping Carts and follow up with approvers through PO (Purchase Order) completion

Supply Cost and Timing to Support Engineer Work Orders through the CMT (Change Management Tracking) Process.

Manage Batch Change Process (Change Management) and Escalation to Commodity Managers when Required.

Support Flowback Process by Providing Cost and Timing to Launch Team.

Drive and Support Business Plan initiatives in Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

5+ years of professional manufacturing engineering experience

General knowledge of design processes and stamped sheet metal part manufacturing

Strong understanding of engineering change management processes , including ability to interpret and implement design changes throughout the lifecycle of the program.

Experience collaborating with product engineering teams

to align manufacturing engineering requirements with vehicle development milestones.

Extensive Program management skills , driving large-scale, cross-functional initiatives - overseeing complex timelines, multi-million-dollar budgets, and coordinating diverse stakeholder groups to deliver engineering projects on schedule and within investment targets.

Working knowledge of

Vehicle Development Process (VDP)

timing and key milestone events.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience in stamping/die engineering

Experience in manufacturing process engineering

Supplier quality and/or product engineering experience is a plus

Knowledge of die engineering processes, die integration into press systems, project management or process control.

Ability to work in a global organization
