Plastics Process Engineer
at Royal will support production with any processing issues that occur during their scheduled shift. We will look to you to optimize our manufacturing processes, improve efficiency and ensure product quality. Based out of our
Mission, TX
facility.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot process issues and lead efforts to reduce scrap
Work within a cross‑functional team including maintenance, tooling, and production management
Participate and lead improvement project teams that are geared towards improving operational performance
Participate in Corporate initiatives to support cost reductions, quality improvements, and standardization
Coach and support training and development of the site supervisors
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering, or related field
3-5+ years of injection molding experience is
required
including:
Solid understanding of injection mold tooling, gate/runner design, part ejection, secondary equipment such as thermolators, dryers and hoppers and feeder/mixing units.
A successful candidate is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and jump in with the team to help troubleshoot and solve a problem utilizing logical problem solving methodology
Experience using DOE’s and other statistical tools for problem solving such as 8D, 5Why, 4M, KT, etc.
Knowledge and utilization of scientific and decoupled molding practices
Strong communication skills to communicate technical solutions to the team members and work within a team
Display the capability to manage multiple projects with little supervision
Strong robot programming / troubleshooting
Experience with gas assist and 2 shot molding a plus
Experience with RJG Edart/CoPilot systems a plus
Strong organizational skills
