Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Nurse LPN for our Onarga, IL location!

Nexus-Onarga Family Healing is located approximately 30 miles south of Kankakee and 45 miles north of Champaign-Urbana, just a few miles off of I-57 on a historic site in Onarga, IL.

Nexus Onarga provides boys ages 10 to 20 years old a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address a variety of unhealthy behaviors and mental health issues as well as childhood trauma. Nexus Onarga youth attend our onsite private, therapeutic Grand Prairie School which offers special education with small classes for grades 5th-12th.

Work Schedule and Salary

Hourly rate $27-30

Full time, 40 hours per week

3 days a week, 14-hour days; 7am 9pm (ex: Sun/Mon/Tues; Thur/Fri/Sat; Fri/Sat/Sun)

Onsite in Onarga, IL

Position Summary The LPN provides medical services, procedures and protocols that promote resident health and well-being.

Client Care

Monitor and manage clients' medical conditions; provide treatment or consultation as needed.

Respond to emergencies, assess client status, and deliver appropriate care or referrals.

Assist with admissions and nursing assessments (excluding medical exams).

Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate follow-up appointments.

Medication Management

Administer, verify, and document medications.

Educate clients on medication use and monitor for side effects or interactions.

Ensure prescriptions are filled and medication supply is maintained.

Team Collaboration

Work with treatment teams to develop client care plans.

Serve as a resource for medical concerns and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.

Health & Compliance

Promote client health and well-being following organizational policies.

Complete required training and maintain certifications (CPR, nursing license, infection control, etc.).

Uphold confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.

Required Education and Licensure

Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing

2+ years' experience in a clinic and/or hospital environment

Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Education and Experience

4+ years' experience in a clinic and/or hospital environment
