We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine and emergency maintenance on machinery and equipment in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential issues, resolving mechanical problems, and ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently to minimize downtime.

This position is supporting our Elgen facility in Closter, NJ. The opening is on 2nd shift. Duties and responsibilities

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and procedures while performing maintenance tasks. Ensure a clean and organized workspace.

Routine Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.

Troubleshooting & Repairs: Quickly diagnose and repair mechanical issues with machines, equipment, and systems in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.

Equipment Installation: Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Parts & Inventory Management: Maintain and manage inventory of mechanical parts and tools, ensuring availability for repairs and replacements.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and provide regular reports to management.

Collaboration: Work with production and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in machinery and processes, providing feedback for continuous improvement.

Emergency Support: Respond to emergency maintenance calls during off-hours as needed to resolve critical issues.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role.

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on industrial machinery.

Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and machinery repair best practices.

Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Good communication skills and ability to document maintenance activities accurately.

Basic computer skills for maintenance scheduling and record‑keeping.

Vocational or technical training in maintenance or related field.

Certification in welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems.

Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems.

Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing environment.

For this position, it is required to be able to lift to 50 pounds.
