A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant may look like this:
Greet and prepare dental patients
Assist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and supplies
Perform basic and some moderately complex dental procedures
Assisting in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
Prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care
Taking and developing x-rays and preparing dental compounds
Taking pouring and trimming dental impressions and seating temporary restorations
We ask our Dental Assistants to possess a minimum of:
High school diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
The following experience/skills are preferred:
Experience as a Dental Assistant, minimum of one (1) year
Proficiency with EMR system
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus
