Our Dental Assistants assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a dentist. A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant
Greet and prepare dental patients Assist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and supplies Perform basic and some moderately complex dental procedures Assist in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients' mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment Prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care Record patients' health histories Take and develop x-rays and prepare dental compounds Take pouring and trimming dental impressions and seat temporary restorations Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Active Texas Dental Assistant License BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross Preferred Experience & Skills
Minimum of one year as a Dental Assistant Proficiency with EMR system Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus Key Success Factors
