Primary Therapist – Adult Residential Treatment Program
Location: Lake Balboa, CA (Van Nuys area)

Our adult residential treatment facility in Lake Balboa, California is seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary Therapist to provide high-quality mental health and substance use treatment. This is an onsite, in-person role serving adult clients in a structured residential setting.
About the Role As a Primary Therapist, you will work with adult clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. You’ll provide direct clinical care, coordinate treatment services, complete required documentation, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians looking to grow their skills in adult residential and behavioral health treatment.
What You’ll Do
Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adult clients
Develop and maintain treatment plans, assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support mental health stabilization and substance use recovery
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and external providers
Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, clinical standards, and documentation timelines
Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to a collaborative, supportive clinical environment
Qualifications
Associate or Licensed clinician required, ASW/LCSW or AMFT/LMFT
One to two years of clinical experience, ideally in adult residential, substance use, or behavioral health treatment
Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, crisis intervention, and treatment planning
Experience working with adult clients with mental health and substance use disorders preferred
