as we eagerly welcome a skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic
outpatient/inpatient
team in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina.
As a valued member of our healthcare team, the PA/ACNP will play a key role in team‑focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in medical settings. This position offers a blend of
inpatient and outpatient responsibilities , encompassing both
interventional and diagnostic radiology duties . The PA/ACNP will play a key role in our growing practice, providing top‑notch care while collaborating with a supportive team. Additionally, the PA/ACNP will have the opportunity to train and interact with residents and fellows, contributing to their education and development.
Responsibilities
Performing a variety of autonomous, procedural tasks.
Expanding services to other Radiology departments for procedures such as joint injections/aspirations, bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, diagnostic fluoroscopy studies, and ultrasound‑guided biopsies.
Engaging in rounding, consultations, and clinic duties.
Utilizing medical decision‑making skills to develop appropriate patient care plans.
Collaborating with the medical team to ensure effective, team‑based care.
Ordering and interpreting laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, and explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of these procedures to patients.
Conducting interventional radiology (IR) procedures, including but not limited to tunneled central line placements (e.g., permcaths, ports, and powerlines), ultrasound‑guided procedures (e.g., drains, paracentesis, and thoracentesis), and tube exchanges (e.g., nephrostomy tubes, GJs, and abscess drains).
Developing procedural skills in accordance with department or practice guidelines.
Participating in basic science and clinical research projects.
Precepting students and/or medical learners, with encouragement to engage in educational activities.
Upholding AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitments.
Performing other related duties as required.
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred.
Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA.
Minimum of two years of experience in a radiology, critical care or emergent care environment.
Procedural and consultation experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS required.
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program; Master’s degree or higher required.
Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
Board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
Minimum of two years of experience in a radiology, critical care or emergent care environment.
Procedural and consultation experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS required.

Base compensation listed within the pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job.

Additional Information Participates in team focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the medical and/or surgical theatres of health care. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (applicable state Medical Board or applicable state Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.
