We are looking for a Licensed Clinical Therapist to join our well‑respected residential treatment center for children, located in central Texas.

New Horizons Ranch is located in the Texas Hill Country, approximately 30 miles south of Brownwood, Texas and 8 miles west of Goldthwaite, Texas. This is an on‑site position and employees must reside in or near the Brownwood or Goldthwaite area. Transportation assistance will be provided within a 60 mile radius.

As a nationally accredited agency, we are committed to becoming one of the first Qualified Residential Treatment Programs (QRTPs) in Texas and to provide trauma‑based therapy in a safe, caring therapeutic environment for kids and adolescents.

Therapist Responsibilities

Facilitate individually tailored therapy sessions with individuals, groups and families.

Communicate and work with the interdisciplinary team and direct care staff to ensure therapeutic needs are met.

Collaborate to develop individualized treatment plans.

Accurately complete and maintain required documentation and case notes per policy and state standards.

Develop, conduct, and monitor appropriate therapeutic tasks to assist each child in achieving treatment goals.

Follow the New Horizons philosophy, guidelines, Employee Handbook, and policies.

Position Qualifications

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related social services field.

Fully licensed in Texas (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW). Interns are not accepted.

Eligible for Medicaid billing.

Strong background in trauma‑based therapeutic approaches preferred.

Experience in residential treatment, play therapy, and animal assisted therapy, especially equine assisted therapy, is a plus.

Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to work with diverse populations.

Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.

Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis screening.
