Position Summary The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses or other classes that may be identified as needed to fulfill the educational goals of current students.

Instructor Responsibility

Adherence to university and system-wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.

Preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.

Ensuring all classes offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester, in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).

Compensation Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range placement. The range for temporary faculty with a Master’s degree is $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Salary adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per an academic term.

Anticipated Semester The temporary faculty pool is continuously open and positions are filled as needed, based on enrollment and funding. The pool will remain in place for two academic terms; applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.

Fall 2025:

August 18, 2025 – December 22, 2025

Spring 2026:

January 15, 2026 – May 22, 2026

Required Qualifications

Education:

A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.

Experience:

Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.

Active Physical Therapist, licensed in the State of California.

All Applicants: Provide a letter of interest in the clinical instructor position or as a lecturer, including experiences in multidisciplinary settings and engagement with other disciplines.

A successful applicant for a lecturer must have a minimum of 5 years of full‑time clinical experience in the area of expertise.

Campus Clinics: Minimum 5 years of full‑time practice experience and the APTA Clinical Instructor Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, exhibited through prior teaching experience and evaluations.

Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Board‑Certified Clinical Specialist through the APTA.

Spring 2026 assignment:

Review may begin October 31, 2025. Deadline October 31, 2025.
