New York City’s largest dermatology practice with 50+ locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Delaware, and Philly.

We are seeking a Histotechnologist (Histotech) to support our growing pathology operations. As a Histotech at TDS, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality histologic slides for dermatopathological evaluation. The ideal candidate is meticulous, organized, and committed to delivering reliable diagnostic support in a fast‑paced dermatology lab environment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized histology procedures: fixation, embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining.

Prepare slides according to quality standards and turnaround time benchmarks.

Maintain and operate laboratory instruments including tissue processors, embedding stations, and microtomes.

Label, track, and document specimen workflow using LIS and lab logs.

Assist with supply inventory and ensure lab cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols.

Collaborate closely with dermatopathologists and lab staff to maintain efficient lab operations.

Comply with CLIA, OSHA, and TDS lab policies and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma with equivalent histotechnical work experience and training.

Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot histotechnical issues.

Extensive knowledge of advanced laboratory theory, technique, and testing related to laboratory histology practices.

Experience with quality control, quality assurance, and record‑keeping procedures in compliance with NY Dept of Health (NYBOH) and CAP.

Ability to learn the Laboratory Information System used in the Dermatopathology Laboratory.

Excellent organization, workload management, and accuracy for demanding and moderately complex cases.

Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, action‑oriented environment and multitask as needed.

Working proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software; willingness to learn new systems.
