4 - 10 hour shifts, on call 1 night per week and every 5th weekend

Position Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Essential Functions

Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.

Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluation overall plan daily for effectiveness.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient and family following chain of command as appropriate.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting patient's rights.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Education/ Certification

Current ARRT or RCIS certification required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Accepting candidates - Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) CI, RCIS, Certified Paramedic (CST) and Certified Surgical Technologist - preferred

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position required.

Associate's degree from Radiological Technology program required. Education requirements may be waived in exchange with equivalent years of Cath Lab Tech experience
