Position Summary A Clinical Instructor position is available in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The role focuses on glaucoma patient care, research, resident teaching, and medical student education. The position will serve patients at the UNC Kittner Eye Center and various other UNC Eye clinical sites. Rank, career track, and salary are commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Provide quality glaucoma patient care at UNC Kittner Eye Center and other UNC Eye sites.

Engage in scholarly activities, including research related to glaucoma.

Teach and supervise ophthalmology residents and medical students in clinical settings.

Collaborate with a high‑performing clinical team and contribute to a team‑oriented environment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

MD or DO degree with successful graduation from an approved ophthalmology residency‑training program.

Board certification or eligibility in ophthalmology.

Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina.

Demonstration of excellence in all scholarly and training activities.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Prior experience in academic medicine and working as part of a high‑performing clinical team.

Experience in glaucoma care and research is a strong advantage.
